Stool collection methods and precautions

1. When collecting specimens, use a clean bamboo stick or the sampling device on the stool cup to select the feces containing mucus, pus, blood and other pathological components. The amount of feces should be at least the size of fingers. Put them into the stool cup. Do not directly scrape the stool on the diaper.

2. Fresh samples should be taken, without urine, disinfectant and sewage, so as to avoid damaging components, causing death of pathogenic bacteria and pollution of saprophytic protozoa.

3. Cover the cup and send it for examination immediately. Do not exceed 2 hours. Otherwise, the cell components in feces will be decomposed and destroyed due to the influence of digestive enzymes.

4. When the stool cup is not in use, it should be placed in a dry and dark place, and the cup cover should not be opened at will, so as not to affect the accuracy of the results.
